OU Daily student leaving work for the night.

OU Daily Prepares Students for Careers in Journalism

The OU Daily offers jobs that allow students to excel in JMC classes and gain real world media experience.

The OU Daily is a student media organization that combines reporters, photographers and editors to deliver information that affects students. The newspaper helps students build connections with sources and media professionals, teaching students how to efficiently gather news and work under deadlines.

"After working for the OU Daily for over two years, it seems like I have such a greater understanding of proper journalism than I did in high school," said MJ Casiano, journalism junior. "I know that real newsroom experience for my entire college experience will entice interviewers".

Since the economy is at an all time low, students are having trouble finding jobs after they leave OU. With experience at a newspaper like the OU Daily, students have a better chance of finding jobs at newspapers after graduation.
